❛ The only person who will decide my path is me. NOBODY ELSE! ❜
This is a private & selective roleplay blog for Kai Hiwatari from Explosive Shoot Beyblade/Bakuten Shūto Beiburēdo by Takao Aoki. This blog derives from both manga & anime inspirations but is mainly headcanon based. This depiction of Kai Hiwatari will also follow Kai into his elder years past the ending of G Revolution & thus, this theme will have depictions of Smoking, Drinking, Coarse Language, Suggestive Dialogue, Violece and other NSFW themes. Please look to the rule page for more before deciding to follow.
Alright sooo….all I have for my avatar verse so far is p much this. I wanted to keep it as close to Canon Kai as I possibly could minus just the beyblading of course. I didn’t want to write out his past so much nor did I want to remove Dranzer from his life due to the fact that Dranzer is a HUGE part of his life. Cutting the bit out would be cutting out a part of Kai and I refuse to rewrite him in such a light.
So, instead, I figured that the best way to incorporate Dranzer would be that this is, I guess one would say a “spirit animal” that has been a part of the Hiwatari ancestry for a long time. Those who are born with the mark of the spirit are said to rule over, not only the family but the empire that has been built upon that name. The spirit presents itself not in just the ability to easily bend fire at a young age, but on the child’s face. If the child is born with triangles on his or her face, then they are said to be the vessel for the Phoenix, Dranzer (had to work that shit in there, somewhere). Kai, being the sole heir and being the one born bearing the mark is the next in line for this position. However, due to a “disagreement” between Kai’s father & grandfather, His parents were made to leave the empire, but leave their child. Kai has been groomed for this position since the age of four. But, due to being ripped from his parents and the constant mental and emotional abuse from his grandfather to be prepared for this position, along with the training he received from Balkov, Kai denounced his position as the next head of the Hiwatari Empire.
This, not sitting too well with his grandfather caused a rift between grandfather and grandson. They don’t address each other by any family title, just name. However, due to the disdain Voltaire held for Kai, he decided that Kai was not fit to be not just the head, but the vessel for Dranzer. Balkov convinced Voltaire that there is a way to pull Dranzer out of Kai and encase the legendary bird into another vessel; one groomed and better suited for the position as the Hiwatari head. Kai, overhearing this, decides that this is the night he was to leave this empire and never look back.
Kai is an aggressive fire bender. He’s been trained by elite specialist when it comes to hand to hand combat and uses his own strength to overpower his opponents. He’s very cold and is very standoffish when it comes to people, especially those who, he believes, are up to no good. He is paranoid that his grandfather has sent people out to come and take him back and because of his paranoia, he is never in the same spot twice. Unlike the fire he wields, Kai is more collected and calm but can lose his temper exceedingly fast like any other firebender. Although he is a skilled firebender, he has been known to stay away from fights; disregarding challenges if he feels that the person challenging him is “not worth his time”. He talks a big game but is able to back it up if need be. Befriending him is probably the hardest thing in the world not just for anyone, but for himself as well. Given his temperament, reservations, and his own paranoia, Kai is not quick to trust and will outright refuse help no matter how bleak the situation. But, once he does trust, the person will have a loyal ally to the end.
This is all I have so far. I didn’t want him sounding too much like Zuko but I didn’t want to denounce his background his entirely. Of course, I need to iron out more of the details before I make this a real thing, but! The verse for this is up and running. Now….just gotta follow some avatar blogs. If you know any, do let me know. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, shoot something into the inbox. I’d love to know opinions on how to fix, change, or enhance. Like I said, I don’t want to change Kai; That is not my intent. But, I don’t want to make him a cookie cut out either. So–yea. And that’s pretty much it.
