^{Kai’s religious backing stems around the Catholic religion. Although he does not openly practice nor says prayers, he well versed in the scriptures and also carries on his person (sometimes) a red and black beaded rosary. For all of his childhood life, Kai has believed in the glory of God. His grandfather, a devout Catholic (between training and his own brand of “tough love”) has always made it a goal to teach Kai the ways of the Lord; to instill within him the wanted ideals of what makes a devout Catholic; even going as far as instructing those who worked and owned the abbey to teach all the children within their ranks the way of the lord, regardless of their feelings of the matter and their own religious background.}

                                                             ^{His upbringing consisted of:
                                                        Learning how to properly pray.
                                                     Being able to read stories from the Bible
                                                            Going to a Catholic School
                                                  Going to Church (which he scarcely attended)
                             Participating in Confirmation(It never got this far), Communion, Baptism}

^{It wasn’t until Kai managed to pull away long enough from both his Grandfather, Balkov and the abbey as a whole, that he realized the years upon years of furiously learning The Word was yet another form of abuse his Grandfather put him through due to the way it was taught. He was locked away if he didn’t attend church. If he was unable to say the scripture correctly he was subjected to verbal abuse. During one session with Balkov himself, as Balkov tried to teach him about the Testament of Solomon, Kai openly CORRECTED Balkov–which resulted in him spending three days in the abbey’s form of solitary confinement. That day was the day he denounced his Catholic upbringing. He has not prayed since nor has he participated in anything that has anything to do with Catholicism.}

^{However, Kai still carries with him the rosary. He can still recite verbatim different scriptures of the Bible itself and can recall not only many different stories, but most of the gospels and the different books within the Bible itself, whether it be from either the Old or New Testament (his personal favorite being the Book of Exodus). Kai himself is more partial to the Old Testament; It was more widely taught to him in his formative years. He also has with him his own copy of The Holy Bible but hasn’t opened it since his denouncement of the faith.}
