Why do such words keep him ANCHORED in place? Why do they have the ability to render him SPEECHLESS? Why was his heart looking to SPROUT from his chest? Conflicting feelings were raging within as this INDESCRIBABLE SILENCE loomed over them both. Rei awaited AFFIRMATION for his confession; Kai wanted to BOLT from the confession but found himself unable to do such a thing. Not to him.
But Kai knew who he was. He knew who he could be at the drop of a hat. He was NOT NICE (something he used to bask in). Sharp tongued & quick to anger, Kai allowed NO ONE to have an upper hand on him, in or out of the stadium. If wanted he could BREAK anyone; no one was to reign over him again family or friend. The ability to TRUST again was something he struggled with—always, even when NO ONE looked to do him harm. There were things that time could wash away in an instant or linger with.
How can one be their own worst enemy? This is a good thing! This is something he wanted—had wanted! & here it stood wanting him too! HESITANCE rested upon his face. Mouth dry & eyes glued to him. SAY SOMETHING.
