He moves to storm past Kai, heading for the door.

HE DESERVES BETTER ANYWAY. ^{These were the words Kai continued to CHANT to himself as Tala not only} THREW ^{something else at his head (which he managed to duck with ease) but made a bee-line for the door. He needed to} LET HIM GO; ^{this wasn’t HEALTHY. He knew that & yet} IMPULSES ^{got the better of him—like now. He turned swiftly & wrapped his arms around Tala’s smaller waist TIGHTLY; pulling the other to his larger, stronger frame. He held him like how} A BOY WOULD HOLD A TOY BEAR^{–with his face curled into the nook of Tala’s neck. ❛ ….Don’t go. ❜}

     _{typical behavior, of course ——— what else did she expect ? lips distorting to that of a bitter scowl, an exhale is drawling past those irritable lips. he managed to piss her off with just THREE sentences ; a new record ! ❛  gee, excuse me for giving a damn about you then.  ❜ hurt & rejection within this team was of normalcy for her to feel upon joining this team ; takao even said it himself one time that her presence wasn’t needed, yet they all changed their minds & reconciled ——— she’s accustomed to it now. ❛  just didn’t want you to feel left out on a VACATION is all.  ❜}

3. Your muse is smashed drunk and incoherent. )

                          She knows what it’s like to lose control, to resort to substances, inanimate means of adoration, to achieve a sense of stability. And while she raises her nose at those who engage in the art of escaping, she can’t help but feel empathy for those so empty. She assumes he’s filling the space of former disgrace, the little holes in his heart that weren’t appeased by his exhausted efforts. He had tried so hard to be better, but like many deities, he too will descend from his throne and lay wings upon a mortal world, where feathers adopt filth for comfort. Truthfully, they were lucky to have found each other and for reasons she can’t explain, she accepted his broken body into arms that once avoided all. Why does she feel pity for this prince? All he’s ever done was batter her being with constant corrections. He won’t remember her kindness, but she bestows it regardless.

                            Hands struggle to keep him collected. She allows his form to lean into her own physique. And while he whispers his woes into her ears, she never asks him to explain. These sermons make sense to him; at least he can find comfort in his own confessions. She leads him to a bench where they overlook cities and sins, and she keeps him close to keep him from slipping into the vices that further vex him. What are these nightmares that constantly nag him? What inspires him to seek refuge in spirits? It isn’t in her place to ask; after all, she’s engaged in uglier escapes.
